Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who are BNI
A: BNI is the largest and most advanced referral organization in the world and is supported by more than two decades of experience in this area and over 5,000 chapters around the world.
While Business to Business Chapters are relatively new to BNI – there are three in Toronto and one in Mississauga – the benefits of referral marketing on a “B to B” basis are clear. Our chapter is thriving, which means our members are getting business.
Q: What are the main benefits of BNI?
A: While gaining referrals is a very good reason to join BNI, the opportunity to help other members improve their marketing skills and services while gaining exposure to new ideas and networks also keeps members coming back. The proven view that “Givers Gain” embodies the BNI philosophy. By going out of your way to find and pass good referrals to other members, you will generate referrals for yourself much faster than if you focused only on your business when networking or with clients.
Q: What categories are currently available in your BNI Chapter?
A: We currently have openings in the following categories
- Architect - Corporate Lawyer - Corporate Travel Agent - Digital Agency/Studio - Employment Lawyer
|
- Event Planner - Executive Coach - HR Consultant - Leasing - Interior Designer
|
- Mortgage Broker - Payroll Company - PPT Designer - Real Estate Planning Lawyer
|
Q: What other questions do you ussually get?
A: Anyone who is new to a BNI meeting usually needs time to digest the proceedings and process. That’s why you are always welcome to attend subsequent meetings as a guest. You may also have questions, such as:
- “Will I be able to reciprocate and pass referrals on to my fellow members?”
- “Can I make a commitment to attend an early morning meeting every week?”
The answer to both questions is, “Yes.” Most of us had the same concerns but they are usually quickly laid to rest following a discussion with members. Enthusiasm and good listening will help you make the most of your BNI experience. Please feel free to talk with your host, our chapter President, Allyson Reid or anyone on the membership committee.
